Shangarh in Summers

Top treks in Shangarh
Lapah Village trek
A short 1 day trek is an easy to moderate grade trek in Shangarh Village. It is a 4-5 hours drive to Lapah Village from Sainj Valley or Shangarh Village. Here one can explore the green forest trail and do bird watching as for all the birders, it is a birding paradise. The homes and temples are beautifully made with green fields all around and flowers blooming in the summer and spring season. The winters can be tricky as the snow trails can make your experience abit challenging.
Barshangarh Waterfall Trek
It is an easy 1-2 hours drive from Shangarh Village. You can book a cab from your hotel till Barshangarh waterfall. To explore or reach this waterfall it is a 10-15 mins uphill trek to reach the Barshangarh Village.During monsoon season you can even view the rainbows around the waterfall which is a speciality here to experience. The 10-15 minutes trek is also nice and mesmerizing to explore and indulge in nature.
Sara Village Trek
To plan this Sara Village trek, plan it on the same day as Barshangarh Waterfall trek. Sara village is 6-7 hours trek from Barshangarh. Sara Lake is the holy place as believed by the locals. This lake has a mesmerizing tree line all around with the beautiful glowing green and blue lake which is a perfect photogenic spot. This trek difficulty is moderatre to difficult and required a good fitness, light backpack and good food and filled water bottles with you to keep you going. Stay in the tents for the night and start to trek to Shumga Top.
Shumga Top Trek
From Sara Lake after hearly and fullfiling breakfast, start trekking to Shamuga Top. The trail is through the dense forest and the colourfull sunset is amazing to view and capture. It is aa easy to moderate which takes around 1-2 hours, the trail is blooming with wildflowers and also the snow capped mountains are picture perfect to capture. Reach the Shumga top and have your meals and rest. Start trekking down to Sara Lake and to Barshangarh and drive back to Shangarh Village.
Ganjau Thatch/ Meadow trek
The green meadow and amazing gushing water streams will make you love the nature and want to explore the quaint villages around every destination you are choosing to explore. It is a 4-5 hours trek and can be done with a local guide and help. Plan it from Shangarh village and explore the Ganjau thatch. It is a 1 day long trek so plan accordingly.
Thini Top Trek
Club this trek with Ganjau thatch trek as it starts from Ganjau meadow only. Thini top is the longest meadow of Shangarh Village and have the best Skyline and the clouds. It is a moderate to difficult grade trek and requires half day. Reach Shangarh after tracing back your path.
