Reasons You Should Start Trekking
All good things are wild and free. -Henry David Thoreau We are slowly becoming an indoor generation who are trying to run their lives through a screen but as you see past your monotonous responsibilities of work, social status, and relationships; there's a beautiful world out there created for us to explore. Rather than scrolling through the travellers feed of Instagram, get out of your comfort zone and soak in the havens of outdoors, you will feel the sun shining through your skin and the fresh air passing through your system. Trekking is your best bet of rejuvenation, being aware of your surroundings and testing your endurance gives you an accomplishment that cannot be described in words. To give you a little push, here are a few reasons why you should start trekking. Trekking gives a person the much-needed break Millennials have started to chant the mantras of disconnect to connect, ironically, on social media. Trekking gives you the freedom to break the chains of the virtual world and helps you live all the wanderlust quotes you read on Pinterest in real life. Reasons to trek can be many but the most important one is it will make you enjoy the smallest pleasures of life without being worried about the first world problems at least for some time. You will experience no urge to check your phone constantly and the pressure of keeping your social status up to date will also rest for a while. So, take

How Travelling Changes Your Mind
“I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.” - Mary Anne Radmacher 'Travelling', I asked myself, ‘Is it just an increment of experiences to the ledger of my life or far more?’ Sitting on a big rock while my feet almost immersed in the river of Bhagirathi roaring at highest of its pitch, made me look back on my life. It was a Gangotri glacier trek, a trek that almost changed my perception towards life, a journey which led me to redefine my life! Someone said very well, it’s not the destination that matters but what matters is the path, which is full of ‘forget me not’ tales that are recited again and again for the entire lifetime. Many times, journeys are not just an endeavour to attain our destinations but also reflections of our deeds or even images of our own selves. The purity of surroundings was enough for me to collect some incidences of the past that were actually important but were mostly ignored by me due to my ill-managed lifestyle. The element of trek from Bhojwassa to Gomukh was amazing, the essence of panoramic view of Bhagirathi group of peaks was pure enough to energize one to follow his commitment to Gomukh glacier. The Gomukh glacier is the source of Bhagirathi and is held in high esteem by the devout who do not miss the opportunity to have a holy dip in the bone chilling icy water. I

Kathgodam or Rishikesh. Which is a better option to start Brahmatal Trek?
Basecamp of Brahmatal Trek is Lohajung. Lohajung is reachable from Kathgodam and Rishikesh. The distance of Lohajung from Kathgodam is 216 km and from Rishikesh is 268 km. So it clear that it takes a little longer from Rishikesh to reach Lohajung as compared from Kathgodam. It takes around 10 hours from Rishikesh and 8 hours from Kathgodam to reach Lohajung. To start your ride for Lohajung from Rishikesh, our drive usually starts somewhere around 6 am. From Kathgodam, it is a little relaxed. From Kathgodam, we depart between 6:30 am to 7:00 am. Still, Rishikesh is a more preferred option by many to start their Brahmatal trek. Reason being Rishikesh can be easily reached from most of the Indian Metro cities. Plus while your trek ends, river rafting is the icing on the cake.
